In 1985, Dr. Thompson opened his private practice called the Richard J. Thompson, MD Family Practice in Lincoln, Nebraska. For years, Dr. Thompson provided family medicine services to his patients as a solo practitioner until his daughter, Dr. Julie Steinhauser, and his son-in-law, Dr. Michael Israel, joined the practice.
Family medicine providers offer a broad scope of services, from immunizations to annual checkups to chronic disease management. Bluestem Health offers various services at five locations in Lincoln, Nebraska, making access to care convenient and affordable for their patients.
During this unprecedented time of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we find it necessary to make some changes at our family medicine practices to keep our healthy patients healthy.
Meet our friendly, Kreshel Medical Receptionists Patti, Veronica, Alexandra, and Marilyn. A big part of why our patients love coming in to see us is because these ladies love what they do and they work hard to make sure our patients feel well cared for from the moment they walk in the door.
The Medication Assistance Program (MAP) is a service we offer to our patients, so they can receive their medication(s) for free through the pharmaceutical companies (if they qualify).
Over time, the cost of living and what it means for people and the overall healthcare system gets reevaluated. The result recently is an expansion of the number of people who will be eligible for Medicaid healthcare coverage, coming August 1, 2020.
