How often have you been to see your healthcare provider, been told you need to take medicine to feel better, and before you leave they ask which pharmacy they should send your prescription to? Too often what happens is you drive away from the clinic and either forget to stop by the pharmacy or just can’t get there at all for various reasons. Bluestem Health in Lincoln, Nebraska understands how prescription medications can be an important element in the overall care of a patient. Ensuring that patients follow through and get their medications is what prompted Bluestem Health’s collaboration with Genoa Healthcare® – to offer on-site pharmacy benefits to patients.
As soon as an individual leaves the location where they see their provider, many things can change their course of action, possibly preventing them from getting the prescriptions they need. Having to go to another location to pick up prescriptions can complicate things. Factors such as individuals not having access to transportation or relying on someone else to take them to appointments may present problems as well. Some individuals may have mental illnesses, disabilities, or work at a job with hours when pharmacies aren’t open. Having access to prescribed medications at an on-site pharmacy where a person also sees their provider helps to minimize some of these barriers and challenges.
The partnership between Genoa Healthcare® and Bluestem Health gives extra quality of care to our patients. Genoa Healthcare® works with community-based healthcare organizations like Bluestem Health. They provide the right pharmacy model that meets our allocated space, patients’ needs, and Nebraska’s state regulations. Our on-site pharmacies are full-service, in-house pharmacies staffed by pharmacists and certified technicians.
Through our on-site pharmacy, we are able to offer direct access to a pharmacy team that’s dedicated to working with our Bluestem Health providers and staff. The pharmacists are an integrated part of our care teams which means that they are available to answer questions that your provider may have about a medication before they prescribe it for you. Having immediate access reduces valuable time for our providers, speeds up the process of ordering medications for our patients, and ensures accuracy of prescriptions.
If you are a Bluestem Health patient, you can use one of our two pharmacies which are located at the Bluestem Kreshel and Health 360 Clinics. This pharmacy service is only available to our Bluestem Health patients. We want to make it as convenient as possible for our patients to pick up their prescription medications and not have to worry about going to another location.

We also want to make sure that you can read the information listed on your prescription. For that reason, we can translate the information on every prescription in several languages. We also offer unique packaging that helps you remember when to take your medication and how much to take, thus reducing the number of patients visiting the emergency room or requiring hospitalization.
We even offer an immunization room at the Health 360 location to help all patients stay up-to-date on their vaccinations.
