Occlusal Guard or Night Guard

Night Guards

Clenching and grinding of your teeth can lead to:

  • Headaches
  • Jaw pain
  • Accelerated wear and abrasion of tooth structure
  • Fracturing of teeth and restorations

The best treatment for bruxism and TMJ pain is an occlusal guard or “night guard”. Custom-made night guards offer a better fit and superior protection compared to over-the-counter options. The process typically involves two visits to our dental clinic: the first appointment includes taking impressions of both the upper and lower teeth, and the second visit, about two weeks later, is for the fitting and delivery of the custom night guard.
