Bio
Dr. Michael Judson, Psy.D, is responsible for integrating behavioral health services within Bluestem’s thriving primary care setting. Integrative care in family medicine affords decreased roadblocks to access and the stigma of brain diseases, developmental delays, and psychological crises. The behavioral health team will focus on taking a “welcoming approach” as Bluestem continues to broaden the integration of available healthcare resources. The welcoming approach strives to keep everyone in the communication loop, and the patient in the driver’s seat. Taking a team approach to integrative care at Bluestem will improve the immediacy of response, increase the efficiency of care, and target improved healthcare outcomes for patients.
The behavioral health team can assist in the identification of psychological, functional, and rehabilitative needs as the patient deals with a wide variety of health problems. Changing unhealthy behaviors or addressing complex chronic medical conditions often benefits from a variety of treatment modalities, including behavioral health. The team will assist the person and family in understanding the problem, available treatment options, and ensure that patient care is coordinated, even when services are provided by other specialists.
