Mariah Poore is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist (LMNT) who works with our patients to manage chronic conditions like prediabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, and disordered eating through diet and lifestyle changes. Her approach focuses on helping patients better understand their hunger and fullness cues while removing stigma from conversations about weight. “I want patients to feel supported and understood,” she says. “There is help available, and small changes can make a meaningful difference.”
Mariah began her career in long-term care, and she values the opportunity to serve patients across cultures, languages, and different life stages. “I love the diverse population I get to work with every day,” Mariah explains. “I can see patients from infancy through older adulthood, which makes every visit unique.” She adds, “We’re able to help many people who might not otherwise have access to a dietitian, so I’m very fortunate to be able to provide that service at no cost to the patient.”
Her counseling style centers on practical, sustainable change. She often encourages patients to focus on what they can add to their meals. “Many Americans aren’t eating enough fruits and vegetables,” she says. “So I often look at how to incorporate more nutrient-dense foods in a way that is also realistic for every individual or family.”
Outside the clinic, Mariah enjoys time with her husband and young son. She spends her free hours baking, taking walks, and reading whenever she can.
We know how important it is to have support and resources when managing a chronic disease. If you have questions about your diet, ask your provider or call 402-467-1455 to schedule a free appointment with Mariah.
