Meet Dr. Erica Peterson, MD

Erica Peterson, MD received her doctorate from Duke University and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She specializes in primary care for children.

Dr. Peterson served as a Chief Resident in Pediatrics and was on faculty at Duke University Medical Center.  She has worked with larger clinics such as San Mateo Medical Center and practiced in rural outpatient settings like the Coastside Family Medical Center. 

Dr. Peterson also volunteers her time helping out in the community whenever she can and has a particular interest in community health issues. She has a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She is has been a member of the Board of Directors at the Lancaster County Medical Society since 2013 and has volunteered with many health outreach programs. 

“I consider it a privilege to work together with the families who bring their children to Bluestem Health to get their kids off the the healthiest start possible,” says Dr. Peterson. “Each child has so much potential and, even when facing amazing adversity, children can show amazing resilience. I find it exciting to work with families to address not only the physical needs of their children, but the social and emotional needs as well. I love the challenge of seeing children from premature babies to young adults because each stage of development has unique characteristics that must be factored into the evaluation.”  

In her spare time, Dr. Peterson loves to cook, garden, camp, and swim.
