Bio
Nishma Ramos-González grew up in Puerto Rico and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico. She moved to the United States and pursued her Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York and her Doctor of Clinical Psychology at California Southern University in California. Throughout her work as a bilingual mental health professional, she has witnessed how language and culture could impact the clients’ access, participation, and response to medical and psychological services. As such, she has been dedicated to using her professional experiences and language abilities to serve different populations with a range of abilities, challenges, and diagnoses, particularly, individuals with Limited English Proficiency. At Bluestem, she enjoys offering culturally sensitive integrated behavioral health interventions to underserved communities and Latinx clients. Outside of work, Nishma loves to spend time with her family and loved ones in Nebraska and Puerto Rico. She enjoys traveling, but also takes pleasure in spending time at home and enjoying her hobbies.
