Meet Dr. Derrick Anderson, MD

Derrick Anderson, MD has been the Chief Medical Officer at Bluestem Health since 2015. He’s a Family Physician and especially passionate about minority and men’s health, as well as adolescent medicine. 

Dr. Anderson received his MD from University of South Carolina of Medicine in 1999 and completed his residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City Family Practice in 2002. He has over 19 years of diverse experience, especially in Family Practice. 

Anderson received the John J. Hannigan, M.D. Distinguished Service Award from the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department in both 2004 and 2006. He was named the Nebraska Medical Association’s Young Physician of the Year in 2008. He also served as president of the Lancaster Medical Society from 2008-2009.

Dr. Anderson sees patients, in addition to, managing Bluestem Health's Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. Before Medical school, Dr. Anderson also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University.
