With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, Shane Ludwig, our Chief Operations Officer (COO), is a seasoned professional. He has been our COO since 2014, and his role has evolved significantly over time as Bluestem Health has grown from one medical clinic to four while also adding a mobile clinic and a central office.

When he joined Bluestem Health (formerly known as People’s Health Center) in 2010, he played a pivotal role as a consultant, transitioning the in-house billing system to a more robust one. This strategic move ensured the organization’s sustainability and Shane’s leadership was instrumental in making it happen. As the IT Director, Shane continued to demonstrate his visionary approach. He secured a special technology grant for Bluestem Health, allowing the expansion of digital reporting and the implementation of an Electronic Health Records system.

Shane has been instrumental in developing our skilled and dedicated team since transitioning to COO in 2014. His collaboration with clinical providers has improved digital workflows and overall clinic efficiency. Shane’s management style is rooted in understanding each employee’s responsibilities, identifying pain points, and developing efficient workflows to enhance the services we provide.

He’s optimistic Bluestem Health will continue to enhance its services and patient care. “We have incredibly talented and skilled staff and strong leadership, which greatly contributes to our growth and transformation,” he says. “It’s because of our team that we’ll continue to move forward.”
