Medicare Insurance Coverage

We accept Medicare patients and you may qualify for Medicare.

We accept Medicare patients and you may qualify for Medicare. Over 40 million people in the U.S. lack medical insurance and many others remain underinsured, which has doubled since 1980. This means that many people wait until their illness is extremely serious before seeking medical care. This increases the chance of patient deaths. Largely, this could be prevented because some of these people may have access to Medicare.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE INSURANCE?

Bluestem Health of Lincoln, Nebraska often refers patients who are uninsured or without prescription coverage to their Patient Support Services Team – a team dedicated to Medicare enrollment assistance benefits.

WHAT IS MEDICARE?

Medicare is the federal health insurance program with several options for:

  • People who are 65 or older
  • Certain younger people with disabilities
  • People with End-Stage Renal Disease, or permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis

Various parts of Medicare cover specific services:

  • Medicare Part A – Hospital Insurance – covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.
  • Medicare Part B – Medical Insurance – covers certain doctors’ services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services.
  • Medicare Part D – prescription drug coverage – adds prescription drug coverage to:
    • Original Medicare
    • Some Medicare Cost Plans
    • Some Medicare Private-Fee-for-Service Plans
    • Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans

The above plans are offered by insurance companies and other private companies which are approved by Medicare. For more specific information, visit our Medicare page on our website.
