Brooke’s interest in community-based dental care began in dental hygiene school at Concorde Career College in Kansas City, Missouri, where Brooke earned her dental hygiene degree. It was there she had the opportunity to work with children and to volunteer with TeamSmile in Kansas City, providing free dental care to kids. The experience showed her how meaningful dental hygiene could be when education and access come together, which ultimately drew her to Bluestem Health.

She especially enjoys working with children and finding ways to make oral health easier to understand. Whether she is demonstrating brushing with an oversized toothbrush or reminding young patients that the enamel they have now needs to last a lifetime.

Education is important with adults, too. Brooke is a strong advocate for flossing, and she shares practical advice patients may not have heard before. One of her favorite dental fun facts: eating cheese can help balance the pH in your mouth after sugary foods and carbohydrates. Above all, Brooke hopes to build relationships with the people she sees. “I want patients to feel seen and heard,” she says. For her, those connections make each return visit something to look forward to.

Brooke enjoys reading, painting, sewing, and drawing, along with staying active outdoors. She is also a Harry Potter fan and the proud owner of a cat named Mr. Squeakers.
