For Dr. Sudman, care starts with the person in the chair, and his approach begins by making people feel comfortable. “I explain what’s going on in terms people understand, instead of confusing dental terms,” he says. He takes this same perspective with patients who might feel nervous or unsure coming into an appointment.  As he puts it, “A lot of patients are afraid they’re going to get scolded. I don’t take that approach. We’re here now, so let’s figure out what’s wrong, how to fix it, and how to keep it from happening again.”

Dr. Sudman studied at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, earned his DDS from the UNMC College of Dentistry in 1998. After building his career in Chicago, he returned to practice family dentistry closer to family and friends. He devotes most of his free time to his two daughters, often going to concerts with them and swimming at the lake.
